clothes and crafts

woke up and struggled my way to breakfast, enjoying some egg-tacos that I actually tried with the Trader Joe's fall salsa that I won yesterday. It was okay as far as salsa goes (you'll know how big a deal this is for me if you know my one-man campaign against salsa).

we then ended up going to Mueller's Cider House, where they were doing their annual donut tasting competition. we were looking forward to trying everyone's donuts...
this year was different, instead of having the general public vote on donuts, they had a "professional" panel of judges vote. :(
one the plus side, they had free samples inside. they weren't labelled, so to try some, you had to have an awkward "Are those samples?" conversation with folks. It was okay, but I feel that if more people knew about the samples (or if they were correctly labelled) people would have stuck around longer. The outside had some little vendors set up which was cool... but real quick, can Lurallooe (sp?) pyramid schemers stay out of "local" vendors things. There was a band playing outside I wish i'd gotten their name, I liked the song they were playing, it was about missing Selena (I'm sure it wasn't about that "Selena", but I like pretending). There was another band setting up inside, but we didn't stick around. We just bought some fresh made Duke's Donuts and took off to:

Second Storie Craft Fair!
It was at Second Chic in south wedge! It was a fun time! There were some of our favourite crafts people there, so it was interesting to see what they had been working on :)

After touring the Fair, we shopped around for used clothes! I found a Craghopper longsleeve shirt for 8 dollars, which I hear is quite a deal. Teh Cute Girlfriend bought a couple of dresses! Afterwards, we went to the Starbucks on Monroe to hang out and drink coffee. It was a good time for sitting inside as the weather had turned rainy.

After a while, we came back home and finished up Stranger Things. Teh Cute Girlfriend hadn't seen it yet, so we started watching it a few days ago. Now we're ready for Season 2!

Oh, I tried some of the Hot Chocolate that I won (it's from Trader Joe's). NOTE: Don't follow the instructions. I don't know who likes drinking thick melted chocolate, but most folks don't. I think when I try it again tomorrow, that I'll follow my heart for instructions.

Have a good day!

another one dead and gone

Hey weirdos that still read this!

Just posting 'cause I'm bored. (Yes, before you ask, I should be working, but...)

Yesterday was the Memorial Art Gallery's Annual Museum of the Dead! It was super-fun!

Local DJ Hero DJ Alykhan was turning out the jams. Trader Joe's was hanging out handing out free chocolate bars... pity them, not knowing the bottomless hole that is my love for candy. :)

There was a room for making tiny felt bats and cats. It was a source of much happiness for the night. We met a drunk gentleman who tirelessly worked on making a tiny felt pumpkin for his wife, it was cute, and some teachers ashamed at their lack of creativity (though they shouldn't have been) We almost ran out of time to participate in some of the contests.

I'm pretty sure I won the costume contest (They gave me stuff, so probably a safe assumption). I was awesome, if I do say so myself :)

I was Walter Goodman's "The Printselleer's Window"

We (teh cute girlfriend and I) also participated in #memethemag. Were they gave you a prompt and you found a painting/sculpture that captures the essence:
The card's tough to read.

Let's see, oh, Hedonist Chocolate and Ice Cream was there, and we got to try their grape ice cream, and it was heaven in grape ice cream form (more like a sorbet, but I refuse to acknowledge different forms of ice cream)

Then we danced a bit, a pretty good Friday, as far as Fridays go. I finished some more figures, I have to make a diagram, oh and I had a mini-anxiety attack 'cause of money. But hopefully things will work out. As always feel free to donate :P

one view at a time

Yes, it's been a bit since my hundreds of views days, and a bit since I last left my apartment. Yesterday was pretty good.
Maybe I should make this blog a positivity blog, but mostly it's a procrastinatey blog :)

Oh, for breakfast, I've been making overnight oats, it's been great, it's:
3/4 cup oats.
3 diced strawberries,
some honey, sugar
Enough milk to cover
Leave overnight. in closed container

Try it, if you love it, Let me know!

I met with my PI and showed him my progress on the current experiments and the progress on the figures for a possible publication.
In addition, he submitted the other paper we worked on, so hopefully we'll hear back from them soon. That and I still need to hear back from the abstract people.
Cool though, worked some more on some more figures.
Went to the last weekly farmer's market. Lab-tech bought a couple quarts of pickles (they were great, from local pickle makers).
And we split the cost of a pastry! It was an Oreo cheesecake brownie! It was delicious. He's, unfortunately, all about moderation, so I straight up can't just eat all of it at once.
Undergrad RA bought pumpkin cake, so I only tried a little bit of it.
Oh, at it was my first MOSAIC group therapy meeting! It went well, it's mostly about identity, but can cover the full range of mental health subjects. It was nice to be in a room of people of color.
The only bad part is that the meeting lasts until 620, meaning I miss the 610 bus, so I'm gonna have to take the 710 bus :(. It's okay though, 'cause the conversations were good :)
Went home, made rice (I mean RICE).
Played some Card Wars with teh cute girlfriend, and watched some brooklyn 99.

Lastly, this is the only place I have to talk to random strangers on the internet, so I'll just complain about not having yet worked on my Halloween costume. It'll be awesome, but I think it needs time to be good. Also, is my twitter feed still on the side, if so, give a follow, I try to be funny.

latter day miracle

Yo ya'll, see, coming up outta no where to drop the knowledge. Yes, I know, I too miss the ol' format, where I would go on adventures, but I'm livin' that broke life atm. So no adventures for me, heck, I'm not sure I'm renewing my museum memberships, and I love those guys.

Let's see, yesterday. I don't quite remember. I think I worked on my figures again. We finished Rick and Morty, and it rained all day so we didn't go outside :(

That's all I can remember, I know, I basically could have tweeted this post, but whatevs, no one's reading this thing anymore. :)

it's been a while

Howdy friends!

In case you couldn't tell, I have infinitely more important things to do right now. (Hence this post).
I wonder how some bloggers do daily posts, heck even weekly posts.

I guess this is just an update on my hanging out in Rochester (where I still reside).

Have you ever seen other people try to come back to blogging? It's weird.

Anyways, I have found the truth and the light, so I'm going to discontinue this blog to focus on the Lord.

-see, that's an example of the type of entry that most folks make when they come back to their abandoned blog, but not this one!

I kinda just need an outlet to write atm, and Twitter isn't inspiring me (i.e. I want to ramble sometimes)

Let's see, yesterday I looked for a single subject data that could represent my entire data set, unfortunately my data's messy, so I'm trudging through it all to find good stuff.

I went swing dancing, for the first time in a while. I actually was just there to be a body, 'cause they didn't have enough leaders.

Teh Cute Girlfriend and I are working through each episode of Rick and Morty, we're almost caught up to the end of season 3.

Oh, I finished a crocheted hat, but it came out wrong, I lost stitches somewhere, so I tried again, I think I have it figured out. :P We'll see!
